"Playing for Change" es un movimiento multimedia no profit creado para inspirar, conectar y conseguir la paz en el mundo a través de la música..” Detrás de “Playing For Change” hay una Fundación dedicada a dar oportunidades a músicos de la calle y mejorar así sus condiciones de vida, una iniciativa que pretende demostrar el poder de la música para eliminar fronteras y solventar diferencias: la fundación les brinda a los artistas de los distintos países la posibilidad de dedicarse a hacer aquello para lo que son capaces, a la vez que mejoran continuamente su talento natural y sus condiciones. De esta forma, no sólo mejoran su calidad de vida, sino que también queda demostrado que la música nos une más allá de las diferencias culturales y socioeconómicas.

En el 2009 saldrá a la venta el documental ‘Playing For Change: Peace Through Music’ en DVD y la banda sonora en CD.
El documental ha llevado 10 años de trabajo y se han grabado dos temas en los que han participado 100 músicos de todo el mundo. Además de “Stand By Me”, “One Love” de Bob Marley. En el Documental, que ha ganado varios premios, están construyendo escuelas, hospitales, uniendo gentes de todos los paises del mundo, mientras cantan.

Hasta 100 artistas de diferentes países se unen para grabar este vídeo y realizar una bellísima versión de la canción “Stand By Me” de Ben King.
Este video es un tributo de amor y paz arropado por la tecnología ya que sus creadores se han dedicado a viajar por todo el planeta para grabar todas las pistas de voz y de instrumentos en la calle, para luego mezclarlo y que suene así:
